MANIFESTATION OF PORPHYRIA-CUTANEA-TARDA WITH CYPROTERONE-ACETATE

For many years our patient had been taking an oral contraceptive assoc iating levonorgestrel and ethinyloestradiol. The appearance of a tempo ro-malar hirsutism justified the prescription of a new contraceptive a ssociating ethinyloestradiol and cyproterone acetate. A month later a bullous skin eruption of porphyria cutanea tarda (PCT) appeared. A tes t using reintroduction has allowed us to confirm the responsibility of the cyproterone acetate by making identical clinical lesions reappear . This report is the first publication in which cyproterone acetate is proven to induce a PCT eruption.
