Abstract
This article presents an application of the fractional derivative conc ept to the modeling of the time-domain propagation in dispersive Cole- Cole media. A recursive finite-difference-time-domain (FDTD) formulati on is developed to solve the special differential equation that is obt ained. This formulation is validated by comparing the calculated permi ttivities to analytical values. (C) 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
