This article presents an application of the fractional derivative conc
ept to the modeling of the time-domain propagation in dispersive Cole-
Cole media. A recursive finite-difference-time-domain (FDTD) formulati
on is developed to solve the special differential equation that is obt
ained. This formulation is validated by comparing the calculated permi
