Abstract
Brahma Rasayana (BR), a non-toxic indigenous drug preparation, was fou nd to inhibit the methylcholanthrene induced sarcoma development in mi ce. Oral administration of 50 mg BR/mice, twice a week for ten weeks i nhibited methylcholantrene induced carcinogenesis by 80% and enhanced their life span. In fact, only 3 out of 15 animals of the BR treated g roup died of tumor while all the animals in untreated group died whiti n 120 days. These results indicate the potential use of this herbal dr ug preparation in reducing cancer incidence.
