Abstract
The in vivo behaviour of mouse mammary adenocarcinoma (M3TC) after sho rt culture was compared to the behaviour of fresh M3TC (preculture M3T C). We evaluated tumor growth, metastasis incidence and blood cellular composition during s.c. growth of M3TC obtained either from cultured in vivo in diffusion chamber (DC) or in vitro postculture M3TC or prec ultured M3TC. No significant differences were observed in tumor growth and metastasis incidence, but cultured M3TC in vivo and in vitro indu ced leukocytosis and granulocytosis, while this effect was not observe d with precultured M3TC, Our results suggest that the adaptation of M3 TC to grow under different environmental conditions as short cultures can induce alterations in the hematological compartment of their host.
