Abstract
Children's perspectives on news are presented. The context of the disc ussion includes computer networks, interest research, and construction ism. projects are categorized by their relationship to children's inte rests in news and other topics. Fourth- and fifth-grade children's par ticipation in news-related aspects of the NewsMaker project are presen ted to demonstrate the possibilities that arise when children are able to create and discuss news on line.
