Investigation of the metabolites of Gentiana rhodantha by LC-UV and LC
-mass spectrometry (MS) resulted in the isolation and identification o
f two further high molecular weight secoiridoid glycosides, rhodanthos
ides B and C. These compounds contain four secoiridoid glucoside moiet
ies, two of which were linked with a monoterpene dicarboxylic acid. Th
eir structures were established by LC-UV, TSP LC-MS, CF-FAB LC-MS, ES/
LC-MS, FAB-MS and 1D and 2D NMR data in combination with chemical reac
