Further separation of the water-insoluble fraction of the ethanol extr
act from the root of Zizyphus jujuba var. spinosa led to the isolation
of three new triterpene esters: 2-O-protocatechuoylaliphitolic acid,
2 alpha-hydroxypyracrenic acid and 3-O-protocatechuoylceanothic acid.
The latter two compounds were characterized as the triacetate and tetr
a-O-methylated derivative, respectively. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier S
