PROTOLIMONOIDS AND QUASSINOIDS FROM PICROLEMMA-GRANATENSIS

From the stem bark of Picrolemma granatensis three novel triterpenoids were isolated: 7 24,25-trihydroxy-3-oxo-apotirucalla-14,20(22)-dien a nd 7 roxy-3-oxo-apotirucalla-14,20(22)-dien-21,23-olide and 7 lpha,24, 25-trihydroxy-3-apotirucalla-21,23-epoxy-7 a,20,21,24,25-pentahydroxya potirucalla-14-en-3-one which were identified on the basis of spectros copic and chemical methods and X-ray diffraction. The known quassinoid s glaucarubolone, Delta(13,18)-dehydroglaucarubolone, glaucarubinone, glaucarubol, 2'-acetylglaucarubin, excelsin, ailanthinone and holocant hone were also identified.
