Multicriteria analysis and multidimensional statistical methods can co
llaborate and offer new prospects in the fields of decision support an
d management in general. This paper presents a survey-based methodolog
y which combines a multicriteria model for the consumer's preference a
nalysis as well as classical data analysis models to design agricultur
al products. The new products are developed in such a way that they ev
entually achieve the maximum possible market share. A real study for t
he Athenian wine market is presented for illustration. The paper concl
udes with some further recommendations.
