M. Rybuszajac et M. Kozlowska, ACTIVITY OF BETA-D-GLUCOSIDASE OF LUPIN LEAVES INFECTED WITH PLEIOCHAETA-SETOSA (KIRCHN) HUGHES, Acta Physiologiae Plantarum, 18(3), 1996, pp. 211-216
Activity of beta-D-glucosidase (EC 3.2.1.21) in Lupinus albus and Lupi
nus angustifolius leaves was investigated after infection with Pleioch
aeta setosa (syn. Ceratophorum setosum) - fungus causing brown leaf sp
ot. In L. albus the enzymes activity was increased a little, 12 hours
after inoculation and 2 to 3 times 24 hours after infection. At L. ang
ustifolius the post-infectional changes were slight and affected only
to the membrane bound fraction. The role of beta-D-glucosidase in lupi
n - P. setosa interaction was discussed in relation to plant species d
iffering in susceptibility to pathogen.
