Abstract
The effect of fabric geometry on the failure behavior of two-dimension al orthogonal plain weave fabric laminates under on-axis uniaxial stat ic tensile loading has been investigated using the two-dimensional wov en fabric composite strength model. The weave geometrical parameters c onsidered are: strand width, strand thickness and interstrand gap and the corresponding fiber volume fractions. The studies were carried out for three idealized laminate configurations. It was observed that the re is a significant effect of weave geometrical parameters on the fail ure behavior.
