Abstract
Four fluorescent, solid mixed complexes of palladium(II) with 1,2-bis- (diphenylphosphino) ethane (dppe) and phenylcarboxylate (PCA) have bee n synthesized for the first time. They were characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance, differential thermal analyses and spectr al (IR, UV, H-1 NMR and fluorescence) studies. The composition of the solid complexes is Pd (dppe) (PCA)(2). The possible structures of the complexes have been discussed too, dppe chelates with palladium(II), w hile PCA coordinates as unidenate with palladium(II). PCA represents b enzoic, 2-phenylacetic, 3-phenylpropionic and 4-phenylbutyic acid.
