P M IN THE UNITED-KINGDOM

In this review of the status of powder metallurgy in the United Kingdo m, we focus on powder and raw material suppliers, sintered component m anufacturers, magnetic materials, and new materials including metal ma trix composites and wear resistant alloys. Equipment suppliers offer c ustomized facilities for water and gas atomization and hot isostatic p ressing/heat treatment. Trade association activities, government suppo rt and academic involvement are also highlighted. It is concluded that the P/M industry in the United Kingdom is healthy with further realig nment of companies expected.
