M. Chandrasekaran et P. Singh, EFFECT OF SN ON THE PROPERTIES OF FE-CU-PB-MOS2 ANTIFRICTION ALLOY, International journal of powder metallurgy, 32(4), 1996, pp. 323
Antifriction materials containing Fe,Cu,Pb, and MoS2 with Sn additions
have been developed using a conventional powder metallurgy technique
by sintering at 800 degrees C, 850 degrees C & 900 degrees C far 30min
. The mechanical and antifrictional properties improved with the addit
ion of Sn up to 1.75w/o and deteriorated with further additions. Dimen
sional change was least in the alloys with 1.75w/o Sn addition, irresp
ective of She sintering temperature. The hardness level was a maximum
(254VHN) for the samples containing 1.75w/o Sn sintered at 850 degrees
C. Minimum friction coefficients of 0.13, 0.08 and 0.12, and wear rat
es of 0.77, 2.82 and 6.18 E-09 mm(3)/m were obtained at PV values of
0.58, 0.76 and 2.68 MPa.m/s respectively for samples containing 1.75
w/o Sn sintered at 850 degrees C.
