Four hundred and twenty broilers of both sexes of 7 and 49 day of age
of the E-24 hybrid were used and distributed according to a completely
randomized design into two treatments 10 % of Saccharina and 10 Sb Sa
ccharina + 5 % of zeolite. The consumption of traditional feeds (3606
and 3418 g/bird) differed between treatments as well as the live weigh
t gain (1750 and 1873 g/bird), the conversion (2.04 and 1.82) and the
apparent dry matter (82 and 88 %) and nitrogen (75 and 81 %) retention
s. The results obtained when combining those Cuban products show the p
ossibility of improving the productive performance of broilers and red
ucing cereals in feed formulas.
