D. Whitley et Kj. Cherry, PREDICTIVE VALUE OF CAROTID-ARTERY STUMP PRESSURES DURING CAROTID ENDARTERECTOMY, Neurosurgery clinics of North America, 7(4), 1996, pp. 723
The ideal method of monitoring cerebral perfusion during carotid endar
terectomy remains controversial. This article reviews many of the larg
er studies in the Literature that have attempted to evaluate the usefu
lness of carotid artery stump pressure. Topics discussed include stump
pressure alone, regional anesthesia, stump pressure and EEG, and stum
p pressures and transcranial Doppler ultrasonography.
