Abstract
In today's competitive environment in the pharmaceutical industry, and with increased emphasis on productivity and efficiency, a team approa ch is essential to successful implementation of a robotic system in a quality control (QC) environment. A QC initiative was undertaken at Br istol-Myers Squibb in Syracuse to implement a robotic system to analys e penicillin fermentation broths on a 24-hour basis. This team effort has resulted in the introduction of robotics to the QC laboratories an d a smooth transition to a Sully automated analysis technique.
