Abstract
The reaction of 4-O-triflyl-2-3-anhydropyranosides with methyl methylt hiomethyl sulfoxide in the presence of n-BuLi or NaH affords 3,4-cyclo propanated pyranosides via triflate substitution and subsequent intram olecular epoxide opening.
