Abstract
College students were assessed on measures of depression, concentratio n, and academic performance. Depression was negatively related to acad emic performance, although the relationship between depression and cog nitive functioning was not detected on a brief measure of concentratio n. These results suggest that isolated testing sessions may mask the d etrimental effects of depression on academic performance.
