Abstract
An analysis is made of a self-consistent problem of steady lasing resu lting in the emission of a few transverse modes in an unstable cavity with mirror distortions and a saturable active medium. Calculations ar e reported of the intensity of multimode lasing in a locally saturable active medium as a function of the small-signal gain and small-scale quasiperiodic mirror distortions. Distributions of the radiation energ y between the lasing modes and the characteristics of these modes are given.
