Ga. Lushcheikin et al., NONDESTRUCTIVE METHOD OF EVALUATING THE SHOCK RESISTANCE OF COMPOSITE(POLYMER-POLYMER) MATERIALS, Measurement techniques, 39(2), 1996, pp. 179-185
A study is made of the connection between the fracture toughness of sh
ock-resistant polymeric composites based on polycarbonate, polybutylen
eterephthalate, and an ABS-copolymer and parameters characterizing mec
hanical and electrical relaxation in the region of local molecular mob
ility. A method is proposed for determining shock characteristics a pr
iori on the basis of the temperature-frequency dependences of the elas
tic modulus and mechanical loss modulus. The difference between the th
eoretical and experimental values of fracture toughness, measured with
in a broad range of temperatures, is no greater than 10-15%.
