G. Pistoia et al., IMPEDANCE STUDY ON THE REACTIVITY OF GEL POLYMER ELECTROLYTES TOWARDSA LITHIUM ELECTRODE, Journal of power sources, 58(2), 1996, pp. 139-144
Impedance tests have been run, during a 10-day storage, on lithium ele
ctrodes in contact with carbonate-based liquid electrolytes and gel po
lymer electrolytes formed by immobilizing the former in poly(acrylonit
rile) (PAN) and poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) matrices. The polymer elect
rolytes show higher resistances of the passivation layer and during th
e charge transfer process. It is suggested that this may stem from the
reaction of lithium with the -CN group of PAN and the -Cl atom of PVC
, because of their electron-acceptor characteristics.
