Mx. Huang et al., APPLICATIONS OF A SELF-ASSEMBLED BILAYER COATING ON A FUSED-SILICA CAPILLARY SURFACE FOR CAPILLARY ELECTROPHORESIS, American laboratory, 28(16), 1996, pp. 32
Use of uncoated silica for capillary electrophoresis separations can c
reate problems arising from adsorption of analytes and other component
s of solutions on the silica surface. Moreover, the electroosmotic fle
w that is generated from the bare silica surface may not be appropriat
e for a particular separation. A coating technique is described in thi
s article that successfully overcomes many of the problems associated
with bare silica.
