MK classifications and radial velocities are presented for 67 stars wh
ose photometry makes them FHB candidates. Their spectra mostly do not
show the classical FHB characteristics of narrow hydrogen lines and we
ak metallic lines, yet their radial velocities indicate that this is a
Galactic halo group of stars. They form a prime set for investigation
of their evolutionary status, Unexpectedly, 10 lambda Bootis-like spe
ctra are found among this set of stars. (C) 1996 American Astronomical
