M. Ratto et al., SENSITIVITY ANALYSIS OF A FIXED-BED GAS-SOLID TSA - THE PROBLEM OF DESIGN WITH UNCERTAIN MODELS, Separations technology, 6(4), 1996, pp. 235-245
In this paper the analysis of the effects of model uncertainties on pr
edictions is reported for a multi-component gas-solid TSA fixed-bed ad
sorber. Owing to the complexity of the system the study was carried ou
t by means of a simplified method. Despite its simplicity this method
allowed the evaluation of the effectiveness of predictions and the ide
ntification of the most critical aspects of the model, which require i
mprovement in order to obtain reliable model outputs. The advantages o
f such an analysis are that the results can be used to improve the rel
iability of the model and make the model useful for good design and sa
fety considerations.
