Abstract
The transfer of radioactive label from photosynthetically absorbed C-1 4-bicarbonate and exogenous amino acids (C-14-protein hydrolysate of C -14-alanine) into cytoplasm and cell wall proteins was studied. A rela tively high incorporation into cytoplasm proteins was observed in the case of C-14-bicarbonate as compared to labeled exogenous amino acids. The latter were predominantly used in cells wall biosynthesis. This p attern was observed both in cell of tobacco callus tissue and in mixot rophic soya bean suspension culture.
