Lp. Belova et al., FEATURES OF PROTEIN-SYNTHESIS IN CELLS OF CALLUS AND SUSPENSION-CULTURES FROM DIFFERENT C-14 SUBSTRATES, Izvestia Akademii nauk SSSR. Seria biologiceskaa, (5), 1996, pp. 609-612
The transfer of radioactive label from photosynthetically absorbed C-1
4-bicarbonate and exogenous amino acids (C-14-protein hydrolysate of C
-14-alanine) into cytoplasm and cell wall proteins was studied. A rela
tively high incorporation into cytoplasm proteins was observed in the
case of C-14-bicarbonate as compared to labeled exogenous amino acids.
The latter were predominantly used in cells wall biosynthesis. This p
attern was observed both in cell of tobacco callus tissue and in mixot
rophic soya bean suspension culture.
