Abstract
Given the competitive nature of contemporary universities, widespread collaborative research and new technologies such as GIS, the authorshi p of geographical scholarship is no longer unproblematic. We present f our 'models' of authorship, examining who is named and in what order, as a prelude for raising broader ethical considerations of authorship as ownership of knowledge.
