Di. Aleksiev et S. Ivanova, SYNTHESES WITH SULFUR-CONTAINING NUCLEOPHILES .1. REACTION OF SULFINIC ACIDS WITH 2-HALOGENO-2-NITROETHENYLARENES, Phosphorus, sulfur and silicon and the related elements, 101(1-4), 1995, pp. 109-115
The interaction between unsubstituted and p-substituted benzenesulfini
c acids and various 2-halogeno-7-nitroethenylarenes at mol ratios sulf
inic acid:2-halogeno-2-nitroethenylarene = 1:1 and 2:1 was studied at
0 degrees C and 20 degrees C for 16 and 96 hours. It was proved that,
depending on experimental conditions, the reaction results not only in
alpha-halogeno-alpha-nitro-beta-sulfones but also in alpha-nitro-alph
a,beta-disulfones, which are obtained by a consecutive process. The qu
antitative ratio of these products and the isomer composition of some
of them were determined by using high-performance liquid chromatograph
y (HPLC).
