Recently Denisyuk invented the so-called pseudo-deep holograms. Those
holograms are actually thin, but they exhibit the Bragg effect, as if
they were several thousand wavelengths thick. The price to be paid for
the Bragg behaviour is the loss of one lateral dimension of the optic
al signal. Denisyuk and his co-workers presented the theory and they r
ecorded some pseudo-deep holograms with laser light. They also studied
applications, notably associative memories and holographic display. O
ur aim is to show how to generate such pseudo-deep holograms by a comp
uter. The hope is to trigger new applications.
