Abstract
A binary interaction model (BIM), formulated in terms of elementary ch emical species, e.g., -CH2-, -COO-, is applied to blends of homopolyme rs and copolymers composed of polyamides, polyesters and polycarbonate . By establishing interactional ''null'' points it is shown how estima tes of the interactions, both favorable and unfavorable, between the b lend constituents can be obtained. The predictive potential of the par ameters derived is examined in various situations, such as blends of P A-66/PET.
