A new concept for tailoring polyamide or polyester/polyamide alloys co
ntaining core shell particles has been developed. This alloy technolog
y is based on the combination of one polyester and one polyamide (or t
wo polyamides) of different melting points and a rubbery ethylene - ac
rylic ester - glycidyl methacrylate terpolymer. Optimum properties are
a function of compounding temperature profile. Resulting alloys offer
a good balance of flexibility, toughness and dispersed phase morpholo
gy stability.
