Abstract
Based on an analysis of the two-dimensional spectrum of a wave field r ecorded on an optical transparency, a tunable narrow-band filter has b een synthesized that makes it possible with high resolution to disting uish the recorded waves in terms of apparent velocity in the zone wher e they interfere. An estimate is given of the efficiency of the propos ed method for working out the details of wave fields. (C) 1996 The Opt ical Society of America.
