Ks. Babe et al., EVALUATION OF HOUSE-DUST MITE (DERMATOPHAGOIDES-FARINAE AND DERMATOPHAGOIDES-PTERONYSSINUS) REDUCTION TECHNIQUES FOR STUFFED ANIMALS, Pediatric asthma, allergy & immunology, 10(3), 1996, pp. 139-141
We studied 54 stuffed animals for the prevalence of house dust mites (
Dermatophagoides farinae and D. pteronyssinus). Potential dust mite re
duction techniques of vacuuming and freezing were also evaluated. We d
etermined that the baseline dust mite levels of stuffed animals were i
nsignificant, especially when compared with the bedroom floors.
