Abstract
The methods for modelling of phase equilibria in multicomponent system s have been classified and an extensive analysis of their applicabilit y to correlation and prediction of VLE data has been presented. System atic investigations on selected well-defined, reliable low pressure va pour-liquid equilibrium (VLE) data of various binary and ternary mixtu res are performed using the available methods for their correlation an d prediction. These results are discussed and some recommendations for a general approach to computations of multicomponent VLE data are giv en.
