Abstract
We prove for every non-abelian compact connected group G there is a co ntinuous, singular, central measure mu with mumu in L(p) for all p, 1 less than or equal to p < infinity. We also construct such measures o n some families of non-abelian compact totally disconnected groups. Th ese results settle an open question of Ragozin.
