M. Demoor et D. Berckmans, BUILDING A GREY BOX MODEL TO MODEL THE ENERGY AND MASS-TRANSFER IN ANIMPERFECTLY MIXED FLUID BY USING EXPERIMENTAL-DATA, Mathematics and computers in simulation, 42(2-3), 1996, pp. 233-244
A model concept has been developed and described in which a physical m
odel is linked with a mathematical identification procedure to model t
he micro-environment (temperature and mass concentration) within an im
perfectly mixed fluid (a ventilated space). The objective of this pape
r is to explain this new concept and to give experimental results that
confirm the value of this approach. Experimental data are available a
s measured in a ventilated space for different values of the ventilati
on rate and heat supply with corresponding differences in the quantifi
ed air flow pattern and resulting measured and visualised position, sh
ape and dimensions of the well mixed zones of temperature. Possibiliti
es and problems are given to apply this technique to other variables a
nd to apply it for control purposes.
