Abstract
We use the second derivative of intertwining operators to realize a un itary structure for the irreducible subrepresentations in the reducibl e spherical principal series of U(1, n). These representations can als o be realized as the kernels of certain invariant first-order differen tial operators acting on sections of homogeneous bundles over the hype rboloid (U(1) x U(n))\U(1, n).
