Abstract
The maximum electric field in bursts of plasma frequency oscillations produced in an anode double layer was measured by observing deflection s of a probe electron beam. It is found that the electric held is larg er than the threshold field required for strong turbulence associated with caviton formation and Langmuir soliton collapse.
