Abstract
Intrasplenic lesions can cause diagnostic difficulties because maligna nt diseases can be excluded only by histologic examination, We present the cases of two patients with splenic manifestations of loiasis, Bot h patients had visited central Africa, Several years later, intrasplen ic lesions were found during routine examinations (for chest trauma an d employment, respectively), Both patients underwent splenectomies bec ause malignant lymphoma was suspected. In both cases, histologic exami nation of the spleen showed eosinophilic granulomata with multiple Loa loa microfilariae.
