Abstract
The title compound, bis(1,2-di-4-pyridylethane-N:N')-cadmium(II) tetra cyanonickelate(II) di-m-xylene solvate, [Cd(C12H12N2)(2)] [Ni(CN)(4)]. 2C(8)H(10), is represented by the general Hofmann-type clathrate formu la Cd-(Ligand)(2)Ni(CN)(4).2Guest, where Ligand is 1,2-di-4-pyridyleth ane (C12H12N2) and Guest is m-xylene (C8H10). It was seen that the str ucture of the title compound is of a new type and quite different from that of the Hofmann-type clathrates.
