Abstract
Molecules of ferrocene-1,1'-diylbis(2-phenylethanedione), [Fe(C13H9O2) (2)], lie across twofold rotation axes. One of the O atoms in each dik etone unit acts as an acceptor of two intermolecular C-H ... O hydroge n bonds. Hydrogen bonds employing cyclopentadienyl C-H bonds as donors generate spirals of molecules around the 3(1) axes, while those emplo ying phenyl C-H bonds as donors generate two-dimensional sheets.
