Abstract
Pyridine-2,6-dimethanol, C7H9NO2, forms a chain structure in which the molecules are linked by O-H ... O hydrogen bonds into dimeric units l ying across centres of inversion, these dimers being linked by O-H ... N hydrogen bonds into chains around other centres of inversion. In th e structure of benzene-1,3,5-trimethanol, C9H12O3, the molecules form a continuous three-dimensional network in which each molecule is hydro gen-bonded to six others.
