Av. Eletskii et Ar. Sorokin, HIGH-POWER AR AND KR DIMER EMISSION EXCITED BY THE PLASMA CATHODE PULSED DISCHARGE, Laser physics, 6(5), 1996, pp. 859-864
The results of theoretical and experimental studies addressed to the d
evelopment of dimer Ar and Kr lasers with discharge excitation are pre
sented. The use of the plasma cathode developed recently provides a sp
atially uniform discharge in Ar (Kr) at pressure up to 10 bar during 1
0 ns with power input up to 10 J/ml. The evolution of plasma parameter
s is analyzed theoretically on the basis of electron swarm data measur
ed earlier. The spectral intensities and power input dependences of pu
lse duration of dimer emission are analyzed in terms of the possibilit
y of stimulated emission.
