Abstract
We present a Hungarian population study for six tetrameric short tande m repeat (STR) loci employing multiplex PCR amplification, electrophor esis of the PCR products in DNA sequencing gels and subsequent detecti on of allelic fragments by silver staining. The loci were HUMVWFA31, H UMTH01, HUMCSF1PO, HUMFES/FPS, HUMTPOX, and HUMHPRTB. All loci met Har dy-Weinberg expectations in the examined Hungarian Caucasian populatio n sample (N = 223 individuals), In addition, there was no evidence for association of alleles among the five autosomal loci HUMVWFA31, HUMTH 01, HUMCSF1PO, HUMFES/FPS, and HUMTPOX.
