Abstract
The fast wave (compressional Alfven wave) eigenmode of m = +2, where m is the poloidal mode number, was selectively excited in a radially in homogeneous cylindrical plasma using a simple antenna located at the e nd of the plasma column, and its dispersion relation was found to be i n good agreement with that obtained using the uniform density model wi th a vacuum annulus between the plasma edge and the conducting wall.
