This article proposes a critical reflection on the theories for intern
al employment markets through an application in the telecommunications
sector. It deals with two complementary aspects : an analysis based o
n the restructuring of a labour market, the French aspect, taking into
account elements of comparison from European markets, and a critical
analysis of the different dimensions of the theories for internal mark
ets. At this point the article examines the definition of territory an
d its frontiers, the regulation of employment conditions and terms of
exchange, the actors of the regulation and the intervention of the Sta
te, joint regulation and collective negotiations and, what is characte
ristic of this period and of the sector of activity, the effects of st
rong changes.
