Abstract
By HIP processing, the NiAl-20 vol% TiC in situ composite fabricated b y the hot-pressing aided exothermic synthesis (HPES) technique was fur ther densified and the TiC particles in the NiAl matrix tended to beco me round, and the NiAl/TiC interfaces, which were flat and smooth, bec ome overlapping in most cases. The effect of the microstructure on yie ld strength is also discussed.
