A new series of Cu-Ti substituted M-type hexagonal ferrites with compo
sition CaFexAlx(CuTi)(6-x)O-19 (x=0, 1, 3, 5) have been synthesised by
a ceramic technique. The X-ray diffraction patterns showed single M-p
hase. The Seebeck coefficient studies were carried out so that the con
ductivity of these ferrites could be discussed. The magnetic and elect
rical properties were studied in temperature range from 300 to 800 K.
The conductivity has been explained on the basis of the Verwey model.
