Abstract
We describe a new species of Breistrofferella (B. peyroulensis) in the Upper Valanginian (Callidiscus zone) of the Provencal platform. This species is remarkable for the presence of clavi on the ventro-lateral edges. The Breistrofferella appeared early on the Provencal platform w here their main evolution took place. B. peyroulensis leads to a bette r understanding of the origin and evolution of the early Breistroffere lla from T. subpachydicranus.
