Bj. Vanderveken, MEASUREMENT OF ENTHALPY DIFFERENCES IN CRYOSOLUTIONS - INFLUENCE OF THERMAL-EXPANSION, Journal of physical chemistry, 100(44), 1996, pp. 17436-17438
Cryosolvents such as liquid nitrogen, argon, krypton, and xenon show a
substantial thermal expansion. Its influence on the value of enthalpy
differences for simple chemical equilibria in dilute solutions in suc
h solvents, determined using infrared spectroscopy, is discussed. Corr
ections to account for the thermal expansion are proposed.
